I haven't done anything with this thing in forever - and I probably won't at least until band is over - but I just had to share this. I just think it's awesome that Maurice Clarett **coughDouchebagecough** made it into the Onion. America's finest newsource indeed!

I don't want to go to school anymore.

Sorry for the geekiness but I just think that this is the coolest thing. A flexible display. Obviously this isn't going to affect your computer a whole lot (you don't really want your monitor flapping with the wind), but this could have some pretty awesome uses. To incorporate some other technology I've been hearing about, imagine having one of this displays, say in a 8 1/2 x 11 size, with maybe a little piece of plastic on the side that would hold a little bit of the circuitry required. In this plastic part there would be a wireless connection (RFID, or bluetooth more likely, for those who've heard about it.) that might say interact with a newstand. Let's say you have one of this things in your briefcase or something, you pull it out as you go to the newsstand which has a bunch of different displays with different magazines on it. You decide which magazine you want and push your thumb onto a pad (I just heard on the news that fingerprint-paying is showing up in some places; you don't need a credit card, just push a pad and an account of your choosing gets debited the amount) and it sends a signal to your paper/display which uploads the magazine onto your screen. Maybe it's just me, but I think that's awesome, and straight out of science fiction.

There's a 'Title' function?!

My first M*ch*g*n game as a TBDBITL member (finally) was definitely one to remember. Rushing the field for the first time anywhere, to say nothing of it being at M*ch*g*n, and then playing Carmen for the team on the field is something that I'll always remember. I think once I get it, I might make the picture of Jen and Me on the field my profile pic. It's such a good picture with both of us looking so happy. The win just made the whole weekend glorious.

Otherwise things have been going alright. The profile pick up as of this writing is from the game two weeks ago on my birthday. The person I'm with is the now director of Pickerington North Marching Band, but at the time I knew him, he was the assistant director of the Pickerington Band (pre-split). He was a former squad leader of B-Row and helped teach me to march before my rookie year. As you might notice, he's wearing his blazer uniform tie, which I frankly find hilarious! Overall my birthday wasn't too shabby, I didn't get a whole lot in the way of gifts that day since I had already been paid to get TBS stuff earlier, but I did come out with a bundle of food and a few OSU plates and glasses and such.

I have to say, I am looking forward to this break and even moreso to Christmas break. I really really need this break to just rest and recharge as I've been burning out lately. Speaking of which I must admit, no matter how fun and exciting the M*ch*g*n trip was, I'm excited that there's no band this week. Band just seemed to be dragging on lately, and with everyone seeming to get more annoyed with each other each day, I'm just glad for the break. I do want to mention how funny it was though on Monday when we "voted" for the bowl show. Now, traditionally, the band has voted for the what show they want to do for the Bowl trip with the impression that what we picked is what we'd do. This year though, everyone was worried that Dr. Woods would override whatever we picked and just do the Ray show (what we did for Northwestern and M*ch*g*n) since it's his show. Our fears were realized when Dr. Woods passed out the slips for the Bowl show, but warned us that he didn't like to call it 'voting', but instead more of a poll of our opinion. Which means, more than likely, we're going to do the Ray show. To a certain extent though, I'm fine with this. I mean hey, this just means we don't have to really practice any right since we've already done this show twice. Riiiiight....

Well I think that's about it, but I did want to list a couple of things real quick that I wanted to do over break so that maybe I'll remember them.

-Get batteries for my pocket watch
-See if my wristwatch still bothers me
-get some sponges and cleaning supplies for the bathroom
-get some raid in case of bugs in the room
-add the no-batteries flashlight to my Christmas list
-look at that one Harry Potter poster (there's free shipping!)
-look at some new earbuds/headphones
-throw out/get some new socks
-maybe look at some new shoes/add them to my Christmas list
-get a haircut
-study

It seems like there were more, but I can't remeber them right now. Oh well

There are many things I could probably write about here, but since I need to be doing some homework I think I'll just drop this little link here:  http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=cnnsi-myfavoritebrune&prov=cnnsi&type=lgns . I would have to say that this generally sumarizes my feelings about a college football playoff.

Band's still going well. Gotta love 3 week shows! Classes could be going better, but I think they're all salvagable. I just wish I had some more time to work on everything. ...and the willpower to focus on everything. Speaking of which, german homework, here I come!
